Bird story agency is committed to telling stories of Africa that themselves and as a body of content, help to change the narrative - that is, they work to provide a view of Africa that is authentic, nuanced and knowledgeable and counteract the harmful and stereotypical narratives of the past.

In the process, bird commits to ensuring our stories are accurate, balanced and fair, free from fear or favour, bias, prejudice or discrimination.  We commit not to publish content that is not factual, committing to interrogate and find comment on, even the most basic data available to our journalists. We commit to ensuring that our content does not incite hatred or violence.

Where an oversight does occur, we commit to immediately withdrawing such content and advertising and acknowledging to our clients such oversight, together with the issuance of a public apology, retraction of or correction to the story.​
